Internal Complaint Committee

An Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in a B.Ed. college is established to address complaints related to sexual harassment and ensure a safe and respectful environment for students, faculty, and staff. It functions under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Structure of the ICC

Functions of the ICC:

  • Receive and address complaints related to sexual harassment.
  • Conduct inquiries and maintain confidentiality.
  • Recommend actions against offenders based on findings.
  • Organize awareness programs on gender sensitivity and workplace ethics.
  • Submit an annual report on the number of cases handled and their resolutions.

Complaint Process:

  1. Filing a Complaint – The victim can submit a written complaint within three months of the incident.
  2. Inquiry Process – The ICC investigates the complaint by gathering evidence and statements.
  3. Resolution and Action – Based on findings, disciplinary action is recommended.
  4. Confidentiality and Fairness – The identity of the complainant and respondent is kept confidential.
