TLM on World Students’ Day

World Students’ Day is observed on 15 October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, an inspiring teacher, scientist, and educationist. On this occasion, Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) play an important role in making education interesting, effective, and learner-centred.

TLM includes charts, models, flashcards, maps, diagrams, educational games, digital presentations, and other teaching aids that help students understand concepts easily. These materials promote creativity, active participation, critical thinking, and practical learning. Teachers can prepare low-cost TLM using locally available resources to make classroom teaching more interactive and inclusive.

Principal Dr. Kumari Shashi stated that this occasion highlights Dr. Kalam’s vision of empowering students through knowledge, innovation, and moral values. Effective use of TLM can inspire learners to explore new ideas, develop a scientific attitude, and achieve their goals. Thus, TLM contributes to meaningful learning and supports the vision of an educated, innovative, and developed India.
